Where:
West Thurrock Memorial Park
Value:
£16,000
Completed:
Autumn 2021
The Problem

The current surfacing was wet pour which was splitting and shrinking in places and children had started picking at the crumb and this began to create large holes in the surface. Once this happens the surfacing is unsafe and will only get worse. The surfacing was adjacent to a pathway so the in-house experienced installers had to cut some wet pour from the edge and create a concrete hunching. This enables our pinning to the edge of the pathway.

The Solution

Where the wet pour had been vandalised, we infilled with own shock pad material and laid a membrane across the entire area.

The scheme design was a variety of three shaded blue tiles in a mottled effect with some grey tiles. The result was very transformational with no requirement for expensive groundwork or wastage costs to remove the existing surface.

The key benefits are:

No Costly Groundwork
Safety Improved
No wastage costsk
Free Draining
Play Values substantially increased
10 Year Guarantee
Fitted by Matta fitters
Shaded range of colours

Thurrock Council have used Matta Products in many sites across the Borough. We have areas that the old existing surfacing had been damaged we were able to use Matta surfacing to prolong the life of the equipment.

The installers are always polite and leave the site tidy after the works have taken place. We have been able to improve the visual impact and safety on various sites across the borough and will continue to do so.
